How often and much do I need to lift weights to start building mass?


Question by Chris: How often and much do I need to lift weights to start building mass?
I don’t want to be a professional bodybuilder. I want to lose weight and build some mass, but not overly so. I’m 40. Is it too late to start doing this?

Never too late. 3-4 times per week should work. Go with free weights. Google compound exercises.

Also you have to eat right in order to put on muscle, not simply just lift. Aim for 1-1.5 grams of protein per body weight.
