I wouldnt say im fat but im a little overweight, and I have just started at the gym. I am trying to lose a litttle bit of weight but get ripped fast, is it better to do a full body workout 3 times a week or a split routine? and if a full body is better, should i do a 5×5 routine on heavy weights or 3 sets of 12 on a little less heavy weights? Thanks

The main thing is sticking with it. So do what feels best to you so that it will stick.
If you wanted to gain more muscle, then most people agree that a split would be best, to give your muscles extra recovery time. If your main goal is to lose some weight, then the full body workout probably burns more calories every time.
You’ll get some arguments either way on the number of reps. Personally, I’m a bigger believer in low reps. But do what feels best to you.
