Bodyweight excersise vs Weight lifting?


Question by Darkness: Bodyweight excersise vs Weight lifting?
what are the benfits of Bodyweight over weightlifting or other way around?

I am interested in forming a tight bodywight regimen and this sparked a debate over several people over which one is better what do you think?

For someone who has not done any type of exercise, you can and will see gains from body weight alone. However, the body will adapt and strengthen (build larger muscles) and you will hit a plateau. Some could argue that you can just do more reps and keep building, etc – but after the plateau, it’s best to use some sort of weights to keep getting measurable gains.

If I were just breaking in to exercising, using body weight only would be a good way to prep the body until I felt ready to use weights.

Then again, it’s better to use body weight than nothing. Best of luck!
