I don’t think there is a specific weight limit set for pregnant women because each woman’s body is different and what you are accustomed to lifting may be very different than other women because of your occupation. Most recommendations are to lift only what you are comfortable with, to use your legs instead of your back, and so on. Of course there are wives tales of lifting causing cord issues and such, but they are just that – tales.

I would say to stop immediately if you have any pain whatsoever.

When to take your maternity leave is a personal choice. You can continue to work in support services (and not lift) or you can go when you start having trouble with lifting.
