Question by : When should I lift weights to increase my strength in cross country? ?
I run highschool cross country and my coach recommended gaining muscle and strength to help improve my race times. He says I have the motivation when running but with extra strength and muscle I can become faster and cushion pain. I kno gaining weight can be detrimental to running times but I’m planning on gaining strength and weight with running specific muscles and using specific running workouts. So my question is if I have a running workout in the morning, should I lift weights in the morning before I run and take a protein shake in-between? And when school starts Is it best if i workout in the morning and run after school? does anyone have experience with this? Thanks :]

This is wat I do I left in the morning cuz thts when I have weight training and I go to practice in the afternoon I do workout my legs do only my upper body working out ur legs and running will cuz u to overtrain and get tired legs when running
